Blog Post from Gooner

My mom just reminded me that my cello teacher says that “everyone has a journey” and then she showed me this video with one of her favorite songs. What’s crazy about that is the song Don’t Stop Believen’ is sung by a guy who’s name is Arnel Pineda and he’s from the Philippines! He use to sing to people in exchange for food but now that he’s in a band called Journey, he helps other kids who need food and education. So when I heard this it was good news to me because he is helping kids in the Philippines like we are! Yay! Can you believe we raised $1,477.37 with the fundraiser we had? We did! Don’t stop believing!

I really enjoy being apart of H4H. We had our first fundraiser and I really enjoyed it! I think it is great how so many people want to donate to help the Philippines. I enjoyed playing the music and getting to choose music from different artists with Filipino ethnicity. It was fun going around and talking to people and helping raise awareness. My favorite part is when we all got up and did our dance together. I loved how we got more people to join and learn the dance.

We had our first fundraiser and it was really fun! I liked how we were showing awareness for Hope for Haiyan and people were donating money for the Philippines. My favorite part was working the dessert stand because I have never actually been in a fundraiser before and it was fun working as the cashier. I think when I grow up I will be good at doing a job.    -Gooner
