Together we supported Sunday feedings for kids for a full year.
We learned more. And gave more. Which made our year meaningful.
Thank you everyone for helping us and supporting our mission!
~The Team at Hope for Haiyan
Typhoon Ruby, also known as Hagupit has hit the eastern part of the Philippines. It’s a category 4 typhoon, almost a category 5. It’s heading for Tacloban, the same place Typhoon Haiyan hit. My only hope is that God can help them try to get through this disaster when it hits. I hope to raise enough money to help them once again, and raise even more awareness on how hard they have it. Our thoughts are with all the people in the Philippines, and we’re still trying, and all we can do now is pray.
Recently Miss Philippines, Jamie Herrell, won Miss Earth 2014! This is amazing! A Filipino teen who takes initiative and is encouraging young youth, like us at the H4H team, to also make a difference! When Miss Herrell was asked “If you win tonight’s crown what will you do to reverse global warming?” she responded, “Global warming has been known to be a long overdue issue. I will use my title to inspire others, help our environment, and we start with the kids—the kids are the people of tomorrow.”
The fact that more and more people are reaching out to youth is outstanding! This should be very encouraging to all youth everywhere! Even very popular people like Miss Herrell are reaching out to youth! To see a young person aiming large in terms of change is amazing and goes to show that anyone who shoots for the stars with determination can achieve anything.
